JOB TITLE: Staff Therapist REPORTS TO: Treatment Director SUPERVISES: Not Applicable BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Staff Therapist is responsible for providing therapeutic sessions, both individual and group, to clients of Hope Haven and their families. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: 1. Responsible for the initiation of creating individualized therapy treatment plans based on the client’s needs and circumstances. 2. Ongoing support and supervision of therapeutic treatment based on specific trauma informed modalities for residents at the Hope Haven Group Residential Operation. 3. Engage in weekly structured, evidence-based psychotherapy sessions with each resident and conduct ongoing assessments of resident’s progress towards treatment goals. 4. Conducts weekly therapeutic group sessions with all residents based on pre-determined treatment objectives and document these group sessions 5. Intervene with emergency care techniques and protocols when residents are in crisis. 6. Provide referrals for additional care or services when appropriate. 7. Maintain detailed confidential records and not confirming or denying treatment or discussing revealing information outside of the session to outside parties not associated with the resident. 8. Collaborate and coordinate closely with the organization to ensure the best therapeutic treatment outcomes for residents, focusing on their individual needs and maximizing their overall well-being. 9. Participates in on-going therapeutic training for Direct Care Staff and Administrative Staff as needed. Position Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: These requirements represent minimum levels to perform the job on a satisfactory basis. Candidates must have the ability to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other human services field. This position also requires current licensure within the State of Texas as a LPC, LMFT or LMCSW – AP. Experience working in the Texas welfare system with children placed in foster care is highly desirable. Experience working with adolescent females is highly desirable. |
